Flat fees. Custom software. A fraction of what the big expert firms charge.

Why the name
A man with a lamp, in broad daylight.
Diogenes of Sinope was the philosopher who carried a lit lantern through the Athens market at noon. Asked why, he said he was looking for an honest man. He was not optimistic.
Our first case, in 1993, was a retired, widowed schoolteacher, naked options, and the 1987 crash. Since then we have seen mobbed-up bucket shops, Stratton Oakmont, Prudential limited partnerships, Enron, Lehman Brothers, and Bernie Madoff. The lantern has stayed lit. Read the rest of the story.
Where we stand
In thirty years we have never taken a defense engagement. We are not about to start.
Every tool is custom-written for this work. Not even Wall Street matches it.
Arbitrator deep dives, discovery review, investor intake. Applied fully, checked by humans.
Flat fees where possible. The big expert firms bill by the hour. We bill for the work.
Questions attorneys ask
Before you send the first statement.
Short answers. Longer ones by email, any time.
What does a securities litigation support firm actually do?
We do the financial forensics behind an investor's claim: reconstruct the account from brokerage statements, measure damages against a suitable benchmark, identify churning, unsuitable concentration, unauthorized trades and excessive fees, and turn it into exhibits an arbitration panel can follow. We also research FINRA arbitrators and process discovery productions.
Do you work for brokerage firms or the defense?
No. Since 1993 The Diogenes Group has only worked for investors and the attorneys who represent them. We have never accepted a defense engagement and will not.
How fast can you turn brokerage statements into usable data?
Our PDF DevilDog software reads brokerage PDF statements at 30 to 40 pages per second. A six-year Merrill Lynch account with 4,847 trades across 1,212 pages takes about 31 seconds. No manual data entry.
Which brokerage firms can you process?
More than 25 firms including Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, UBS, Wells Fargo, Fidelity, Schwab, Raymond James, Edward Jones, LPL, Pershing, Oppenheimer, Ameriprise, Robinhood, and JP Morgan. New firms can usually be added in a few days.
How does pricing work?
Flat fees wherever possible, quoted up front. Large expert firms bill by the hour; we bill for the work, and because our tools are automated the total is a fraction of what those firms charge.
Can an investor use your services directly?
Yes. myQuestionnaire lets a wronged investor tell their story once, free, and reach a vetted network of investor-side attorneys. myAnalysis shows an investor what their account did against what it should have done.
